Spring mattresses have a box spring base, mattress springs, and padding layers, all supported by metal coils. It’s not all that simple though as there are many kinds of different spring systems in use. Usually, the more coils the better as the mattress will contour and support you even better. These kinds of mattresses can also vary in what materials are used for the sleeping surface, from quilting to memory foam.
Memory Foam
By now, you’ve certainly heard of the wave of memory foam mattresses and pillows that have become increasingly more popular. They’re great for people who suffer from chronic pains because of their unique construction. What goes into a memory foam mattress? There are a few layers to it, but it starts with a high-density foam at its core. Mattress Sizes

Twin Mattresses
Twin sized mattresses are the smallest bed available. They’re 38-inches wide by 75-inches long, making it ideal for either children or single adults. They’re great for more compact living spaces so if your room size is a concern, you may need a twin mattress.
Full Mattresses
These full mattresses are slightly larger than twin sized, with the same length but a bit more wide, as they are 54-inches wide and 75-inches long. These are sometimes referred to as “double” sized beds. At 16-inches wider than a twin bed, they may be ideal for spare spaces like guest rooms, where they will offer a bit more luxury than a twin bed without breaking the bank.
Queen Mattresses
Queen sized beds are really the most popular size out there. At 60-inches wide and 80-inches long, you’ll enjoy the luxury of having space to move around. Couples, or just those who want more space to toss and turn at night, will definitely enjoy the size of the queen bed. They’re perfect for master bedrooms that are at least 10 x 10 square feet.
King Mattresses
King sized beds are extra wide. They’re 76-inches wide by 80-inches long, giving you that extra 16-inch buffer of wiggle room. These beds are pure luxury and are really meant to make you feel, well, like a king. Your bedroom needs to be spacious to accommodate this large bed, preferably 12 x 10 square feet.
